The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a very busy 12-month cricket schedule for both Men’s, Women’s, and the under 19s teams. About 86 international matches along with three major ICC events will be taken this month.
The three ICC events that are scheduled in this period are the Men’s T20 World Cup, Women’s T20 World Cup, and the first-ever ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Along with the major ICC events are the Asia Cup, both Men and Women’s editions. Furthermore, the Women’s team will be a part of the Commonwealth Games and the 19th Asian Games.
Five international teams will visit Pakistan between May 2022 and May 2023 for Tests, ODIs and T20Is, making it an exciting times for the fans.
Let’s look into the details of the upcoming matches.
Men’s Schedule by PCB
The Men’s team of Pakistan cricket will see them play seven Tests, 17 ODIs, and a minimum of 25 T20Is in this period. The seven Test matches will all be the part of all-important World Test Championship, which is ongoing. While the 12 of the 17 ODI matches will be part of the ongoing Men’s World Cup Super League.
The Twenty20 International matches will be important for the national Men’s team as the ninth edition of the Men’s T20 event will be held in October later this year, hosted by Australia.

The long international series will begin when the West Indies team will visit Pakistan for the three ODIs, which were supposed to be played in December last year only to be postponed. These three ODIs will be part of the WCSL.
Babar Azam and his side recently gained 20 points after their 2-1 win over Australia and found themselves back into the race for the direct qualification. They will look to increase those points starting from this series.

Following the short series against the Men in Maroon, the Green Team will travel to Sri Lanka for two WTC matches and three WCSL matches. The matches are yet to be scheduled.
Shortly after the Sri Lanka series will see the men’s team compete in the Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be in Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format and will act as a practice for the upcoming T20 WC.

Pakistan will be then greeted by England Men’s team for the series of seven T20I matches in September-October. Originally it was supposed to be two and to be played last year.
Finally, the Men’s team will then fly to Australia to compete in the T20 WC.

The conclusion of the tournament will then see England comeback and New Zealand for the WTC matches. New Zealand will play three ODIs as well for the WCSL. New Zealand returns for five ODIs and three T20Is in March-April 2023 in what will conclude this whole schedule.
Women’s Schedule by PCB
The 12-month-long schedule will begin with the Women’s team, who will play with the Sri Lankan cricket team at home. They will play 3 WODIs and 2 WT20Is. All games will be played in Karachi and the ODIs will count towards the Women’s Championship.

They will then tour Ireland for the tri-series with Australia women. Once this is concluded, the PAK-W team will then play the Commonweath games, which will take place in England. In September, they will play the 19th Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Guangzhou.
In October, PAK-W will participate in the Women’s Asia Cup before Ireland Women’s team will travel the country for three ODIs and three T20Is.
After a long gap, in 2023 they will travel to Australia for same length of three ODIs and T20Is in January.
The Women’s schedule will conclude with their U19 team playing the Women’s U19 T20 WC and the 2023 Women’s T20 WC, both will be hosted by South Africa.
