Pakistan’s players’ participation in the Caribbean Premier League 2026 will begin with a delay for several of the country’s leading T20 players, with the Pakistan Cricket Board prioritizing the National Champions Cup as its immediate focus.
The Champions Cup is scheduled to take place in Multan from August 11 to 18, while the CPL has already gotten underway. As a result, six Pakistani players who have signed for CPL franchises will have to remain in Pakistan and fulfill their domestic commitments before traveling to the Caribbean Premier League 2026. The PCB is expected to issue their No-Objection Certificates after the Champions Cup, meaning they would miss the opening portion of the CPL season.
Six Players Affected
The six players who have signed for the Caribbean Premier League 2026 and are part of the Champions Cup are:
| Player | CPL Franchise | Champions Cup Team |
| Saim Ayub | Jamaica Kingsmen | Pakistan Whites |
| Usman Khan | Jamaica Kingsmen | Pakistan Whites |
| Maaz Sadaqat | Jamaica Kingsmen | Pakistan Gold |
| Shadab Khan | Antigua & Barbuda Falcons | Pakistan Greens |
| Sufyan Moqim | Antigua & Barbuda Falcons | Pakistan Blues |
| Naseem Shah | St Kitts & Nevis Patriots | Pakistan Greens |
The PCB’s officially announced Champions Cup squads confirm that Saim Ayub and Usman Khan are part of Pakistan Whites, Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah are in Pakistan Greens, Sufyan Moqim is in Pakistan Blues, and Maaz Sadaqat is part of Pakistan Gold.
Jamaica Kingsmen Face the Biggest Problem in the Caribbean Premier League 2026.
The Jamaica Kingsmen, the sister franchise of the Hyderabad Kingsmen, have the largest Pakistani contingent in the Caribbean Premier League 2026, with Saim Ayub, Usman Khan and Maaz Sadaqat all part of their squad.
Saim is arguably the biggest name among the three. The explosive left-hander has become one of Pakistan’s most exciting T20 batsmen and is expected to play an important role for Jamaica.

Usman Khan, meanwhile, provides another powerful batting option, while Maaz Sadaqat is one of the newer Pakistani players making his CPL debut. All three will first have to fulfil their Champions Cup responsibilities before making the journey to the Caribbean. Jamaica will therefore have to manage the opening part of its campaign without three of its Pakistani recruits.
Shadab and Sufyan give Antigua a Pakistani Spin Combination.
The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons will also have to wait for two of their Pakistani stars.
Former Pakistan white-ball captain Shadab Khan and left-arm wrist-spinner Sufyan Moqim are both part of the Falcons’ Caribbean Premier League 2026 squad. Shadab’s experience as a T20 all-rounder gives Antigua an additional batting and bowling option, while Sufyan adds a different dimension to their spin attack.

Both, however, are involved in the Champions Cup, with Shadab leading Pakistan Greens and Sufyan representing Pakistan Blues.
Hunain Shah and Usman Tariq Get a Different Route.
Interestingly, not every Pakistani CPL player has been affected by the Champions Cup.
Hunain Shah, who is also signed by the Jamaica Kingsmen, was not selected in any of the four Champions Cup squads. Reports indicate that he has instead been granted an NOC to participate in the CPL. That means Jamaica could have Hunain available while waiting for its other Pakistani recruits to arrive.
Then there is Usman Tariq, whose situation is completely different. The young spinner is representing Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred in England at the moment and is not part of the National Champions Cup squad.
Once his commitments in The Hundred are completed, Usman Tariq is expected to head directly to the Caribbean to join the Trinbago Knight Riders. This makes him the only Pakistani CPL player who will effectively travel to the Caribbean through England rather than having to return to Pakistan for the Champions Cup.
Pakistan’s CPL Contingent
The complete Pakistani contingent for CPL 2026 is therefore:
Jamaica Kingsmen: Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Maaz Sadaqat and Hunain Shah
Antigua & Barbuda Falcons: Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots: Naseem Shah
Trinbago Knight Riders: Usman Tariq
Seven of the eight players are expected to make their way to the CPL, but their routes and arrival dates will be different.
For Saim, Usman Khan, Maaz, Shadab, Sufiyan and Naseem, the Champions Cup comes first. Hunain has been cleared to go directly to the CPL, while Usman Tariq will make the trip from England after completing his Hundred commitments.
