The fifth edition of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023 will get underway in Sri Lanka on the 13th of July. The emerging competition is back after a gap of four years. Pakistan are ready to defend their title as they won the last edition in 2019 after beating the host team Bangladesh in the final.
Sri Lanka is the most successful team in that tournament, which won back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018. In 2013, India clinched the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Format of Emerging Asia Cup 2023
A total of eight teams will fight for the trophy which will be played in 50 overs format. Five A teams India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are full members of the Asian Cricket Council, in addition to three teams from the ACC Men’s Premier Cup: UAE A, Oman A, and the Nepal national side.
The teams are divided into two groups for round-robin matches, and the winners of each group will make it to the semifinal of the 50-over tournament. The final, which will take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 23, will be the only day-night game of the event.

Pakistan Shaheens Squad
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced that Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris will captain Pakistan Shaheens in Emerging Asia Cup 2023. Shaheens, who are the defending champions, will start their camping against Nepal nation side.
