PSL 2023 Draft: Complete List

The PSL 2023 Draft took place in Karachi on December 15. All the franchises have completed their 18-player roster in the draft.

There were some big and interesting picks in the drafts. There were pickings from Sri Lanka – the Asia Cup 2022 winners – and Australia and England – the past two winners of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Other picks came from the West Indies, South Africa and New Zealand. In total, there were pickings from nine different countries.

As per draft rules, the team retained up to eight players which were already announced.

There must be a minimum of one foreign player and one local player each in the categories of Platinum and Diamond. In the first nine picks, teams must pick at least three foreign players while two additional picks are done in the Supplementary round.

Quetta Gladiators

They have been the most disappointing team since their title-winning run in 2019. Quetta have not reached the playoffs round from that point onwards. The same was the case last year. They were eliminated via poor NRR and ended as the second-worst team of the season. Quetta will look to improve as a team after they got a good mixture of experience and youth.

Karachi Kings

Perhaps the worst time Karachi ever faced in the PSL tournament. The 2022 edition was the first time they were eliminated in the first round, winning only just one match out of ten. In the draft, they have made quiet changes in the roster. They have added a few big names and some interesting changes they made. The 2020 champions will be looking to get back at their best again.
