Pakistan women’s cricket has gained significant popularity and attention in recent years, with PSL being one of the most popular T20 leagues in the world. However, the women’s version of the league is yet to start but PCB has arranged exhibition matches alongside PSL. To provide a platform for talented women cricketers in Pakistan.
Women’s Exhibition Matches Details
The two teams participating in the upcoming exhibition are the Amazons and Super Women. The women’s matches will begin at 2:00 PM PKT and will be played before the men’s fixtures in the HBL PSL 8 games. On March 8th and 10th, Peshawar Zalmi will be playing against Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans, at their home ground respectively. on March 11th, Quetta Gladiators will be facing off against Multan Sultans. For these match days, tickets for the three men’s HBL PSL matches will also grant access to the women’s fixture.
PCB to Promote Women’s Causes Through Exhibition Matches:
PCB to host exhibition matches promoting women’s causes. Wednesday’s T20 match to celebrate Women’s Day, Friday’s game to raise breast cancer awareness with Pink Ribbon Pakistan, and Saturday’s match to highlight women’s empowerment through education in partnership with Circle Women. In past years PCB used pink and yellow ribbons in men’s Pakistan Super League matches to spread awareness.

Sana Mir, who represented Pakistan in 226 international matches, said: “I am excited as this is the first time exhibition matches are taking place for the women’s league. This will allow the women cricketers to come forward and showcase their skills.
“These exhibition matches are very important for the local players to know and understand the requirements of modern-day cricket, what international players are doing, how they can improve their skill set, and how they can perform in pressure situations.
“The league at home will not only help players to improve their game, but it also gives them a chance to get selected in foreign leagues.”
Urooj Mumtaz, who played for Pakistan in 48 international matches from 2004 to 2010, said: “This exhibition matches taking place alongside HBL PSL 8 is a huge thing, it will increase the viewership and attracts the younger audience to come forward and adopt this game, boosting women’s cricket.
“The cricketers playing in the league have a great opportunity to inspire young women not just to pick this game but pick up any other sport because cricket is playing a huge role for other sports in Pakistan.
“I will urge the people in Pindi to come and support women’s cricket and enjoy the level of women’s cricket which has gone up in this country after a time.
