Bismah Maroof Returns For Women’s World Cup 2022

Bismah Maroof is an all-rounder player of the women`s cricket team is ready to join the team as a captain of the team for the world cup 2022 planned to be held in New Zealand in the months of March – April 2022. She is excited about her reappearance in international cricket after two years of maternal leaves.

In spite of the fact, Women’s cricket is hindered in Pakistan Bismah Maroof is an excellent addition to the Pakistan women`s cricket team. Bismah started her career in 2006 and played 108 of total T20Is and One Day Internationals and has played with an average of 27. Specifically, she has scored 2602 runs with an average of 27.97 in one-day international matches and holds the record of most runs in a career without a hundred. She was also awarded for taking the most catches in the innings in the year 2017. 

Bismah has proven herself as a reliable player of the team, a candid all-rounder proficient in affixing the innings with her batting and wrist spinning. She is genuinely capable to command a match with her game-changing skills. At the age of 15 only, Bismah Maroof was selected in the Pakistan cricket squad. She replaced Sana Mir as a captain of the squad just after the 2016 Women`s T20 world cup.

Bismah Maroof`s passion for World Cup 2022

Bismah Maroof is grateful and super excited to join the team back after her maternity leave for two years span. She seems extremely grateful to PCB’s parental support policy which has prominently facilitated her return to international cricket as mentioned in her latest tweet.

Fitness sessions of Bismah Maroof are started at National High-Performance Centre and net practice sessions are ready to commence as soon as she got recovered from a thumb injury.

As a captain, she is proud and confident of the selected team and believes her team will perform well and have the ability to reach the semi-finals. Team Pakistan will start their final round of training with warm-up matches in Karachi from 27 January. It will be a 10-day camp before leaving for New Zealand on 8th February.
