The time when cricket was exiled, was perhaps the most difficult for Pakistan cricket fans. The stadiums were empty and Pakistan was forced to take place on foreign lands. It was the darkest period of time for the game in the homeland.
Then, in the year 2017, a glimmer of hope originated, when PCB placed the first stepping stone of bringing back the game in the country, Gradually international cricket began to return and the stadiums started filling in.
As the foreign countries began to resume play, fans wondered if the top teams will ever step foot on Pakistani grounds or will they be left longing for such a thing to happen. But on November 8, 2021, Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed a tour of their men’s side which would happen in March-April.
No one could believe it until a full-strength Australian Test team landed on Pakistani soil on 27th February to mark the beginning of a historic tour. It was a dream that was finally coming true.
Pakistan Cricket fans celebrate the Historic tour
The celebrations of this tour began the very next day the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7) ended. Already high on the craze and excitement, the Pakistan fans couldn’t stop showcasing their happiness. The Tickets for the Test were soon sold out
As the days grew closer, the happiness grew in size and it was finally the day of the match
The stadium began to fill in early and there were huge queues of fans outside even after the match had begun
The Pakistan fans opened their arms and feelings for both sides. Some heart-warming and also hilarious posters were seen in the stadium. A warm welcome was what the Australians got on the first day of the first test.
