Before moving to the topic, every cricket fan must know what is SENA. It is the most frequently used word in the world of cricket. It is the abbreviation South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia respectively. These are the four strongest cricket teams with great performances on their home pitches. In the subcontinent, pitches are designed for spinners, but in SENA countries, pitches are best suited for fast bowlers; that is why Asian teams face difficulties in performing well against SENA countries on their home grounds as they have to face the fast bowling attack.
In the same way, SENA countries find it challenging to play against spin attacks in the subcontinent. Pakistan Super League, Indian Premier League, and Caribbean Premier League are the events which are helpful for the players to cope with the challenges they face against the teams on their home grounds.
Rohit Sharma and the fast bowling attack
According to him, fast bowlers like Bret Lee and Dale Steyn were like a nightmare for him at the beginning of his career. He struggles a lot facing inswing deliveries, especially against left-arm seamers; Trent Boult and Muhammad Amir are amongst the seamers who troubled Rohit Sharma a lot. Tim Southee of New Zealand has dismissed him ten times in international cricket.

Rohit’s Performance in SENA
Sharma is described as the only player in the history of cricket to be injured before touring every SENA Country. He got harmed before England tour in 2014, Australia tour in 2018 & 2020, New Zealand’s time in 2020, and in December 2021 before South Africa’s tour, he again got injured. Now when India is on a tour of England, he is again injured and out of the Indian team.
This shows his consistency of getting injured only before the International time. It also indicates his weakness in playing against fast bowlers of SENA on their home grounds. His fans trolled him as “Rohit Sharma becomes the first player to got injured against all SENA countries.”
