Pakistan Gears Up to Stage T20I Tri-Series for the very first time
For the first time, Pakistan will host a T20I Tri-Series, serving as a crucial stepping stone for all three teams as they prepare for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
For Afghanistan, this series is a historic milestone, it will be their first time playing T20 internationals in Pakistan. Until now, their only outings on Pakistani soil were five ODIs, including the 2023 Asia Cup and this year’s Champions Trophy; they did not meet the hosts in those competitions with the most recent coming against Australia in February this year.

Full Schedule and Venues for the T20I Tri Series
Each team will face the other twice, with the top two sides progressing to the final in Lahore on November 29. The series begins on November 17 in Rawalpindi, where Pakistan will take on Afghanistan. Rawalpindi will also host Afghanistan’s clash with Sri Lanka on November 19, before the tournament shifts to Lahore for the remaining five fixtures.

PCB Speaks on Hosting Pakistan T20I Tri-Series
PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed was excited at the upcoming tri-series.
“We look forward to hosting Sri Lanka and Afghanistan for Pakistan’s maiden T20I tri-series. This event will not only offer excellent preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, but also present fans with exciting cricket across venues.”
The COO also praised PCB’s recent track record in staging global tournaments, including the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier earlier this year, underscoring Pakistan’s capacity to successfully host major events.
Before the tri-series, Pakistan are scheduled for a full home assignment against South Africa. That series, running from October 12 to November 8, includes two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.
