Pakistan A Team, also known as the Pakistan Shaheens, led by Captain Irfan Khan Niazi, defeated India A by eight wickets in their Group B match of the ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025. This comfortable win helped Pakistan A secure a semifinal berth and showed they are among the strong contenders to win the tournament.
India A Struggle After Pakistan Elects to Field
Pakistan Shaheens won the toss and chose to field first, to put India A under pressure right from the start. India A struggled to carry the momentum, losing wickets after a comfortable start from the openers, ending up 136 all out in 19 overs after being 101-3 at one point.
Batting Collapse Despite Suryavanshi’s Effort in the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025
Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the only batter who put up a strong fight, scoring 45 off 28 balls. His efforts helped India A reach a somewhat respectable total, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to support him. Because of the continuous wickets, India A were bowled out for 136 in 19 overs.

Shahid Aziz led the bowling attack brilliantly with figures of 3 for 24, troubling the Indian batters with his accuracy. He was well supported by Maaz Sadaqat and Saad Masood, each claiming two wickets, along with Ubaid Shah, Ahmed Daniyal, and Sufiyan Muqeem, who claimed 1 wicket each to get through “Much Hyped” India A’s batting lineup. Chasing 137, Pakistan Shaheens displayed complete control over the chase. Chasing the total for only at the loss of 2 wickets. Opening batter Maaz Sadaqat played an unbeaten innings while Yasir Khan and Muhammad Naeem didn’t stand long. Maaz Sadaqat’s Masterclass Guides Pakistan To a Comfortable Chase
Twenty-year-old Maaz Sadaqat played a match-winning knock, smashing an unbeaten 79 off 47 balls. His steady and attacking approach helped Pakistan reach 137/2 in only 13.2 overs. Before shining with the bat, Sadaqat also bowled very well. He took two important wickets for just 12 runs in 3 overs, helping Pakistan restrict India from building any partnerships in the middle.
Maaz Sadaqat’s excellent all-round performance with the economical spell in the bowling and a powerful innings with the bat earned him his 2nd Back-to-Back Player of the Match award at ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025.
