Before the announcement of the squad, there were many rumours about Rizwan-Babar not wanting to take a rest. All rumours were proven wrong as Najam Sethi, has revealed that the decision to rest senior players and try out the emerging squad in the upcoming series against Afghanistan was made after consulting with the players themselves.

“We had a personal discussion with Babar, Shaheen, Haris, Fakhar, and Rizwan, and explained to them that we want to give them some rest and provide an opportunity to young players who have performed well in the PSL.”

This shows that the decision to rest senior players was made with the players’ best interests in mind and after considering their opinions. It also highlights the importance of open communication between the board and the players, which is essential for building a cohesive and successful team.
