Pakistan Junior League is also known as the under19 PSL, which is announced by Pakistan cricket team Chairman Ramiz Raja. It will take place on 1st October in Lahore. This league has been set up to allow young talent to showcase their talent and learn. In this 15 days tournament, under19 players from all over the world will participate.

Why This League Came Into Consideration?
Ramiz outlined some plans to improve the Pakistan cricket team. He thought that the board needs to facilitate and make young players transform into world-class players. Hence, he came up with the idea of the Pakistan Junior League. The idea of including foreign under19 players is that the local players will get to learn from them and share a dugout. This will form future bonding.
The chairman’s statement reads,
“The potential sponsors have shown excitement and expressed their interest in the city-based Pakistan Junior League in their endeavor to play an important role in helping the PCB to create an environment of brilliance by providing a clear pathway to the talented youngsters, which, in turn, will fortify our bench-strength and produce new national stars and heroes.”
How this PJL will work?
There will be six franchises from different cities in Pakistan, and there will be a total of 19 matches. The players will be selected through the draft process, and the mentors from each dugout will be legendary players. Three out of six mentors have been announced, and Javed Miandad is the head of all the mentors.
Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Darren Sammy are the three mentors who will give confidence and teach new skills to youngsters. There will be 100 best youngsters who will be a part of PJL draft, and they will be selected for a team; they will be given 30000 monthly, and they will be given free education and free gear.
Is Pakistan Junior League a good initiative to find emerging stars?
Pakistan Junior League is a very fine initiative to find emerging talent. Young players will have an opportunity to be selected for PSL. If a player performs well in PJL so the PSL franchises will observe him, and he will be selected in PSL because of his good performance, and then in PSL, he will be well recognized. Automatically he will be selected for domestic cricket, where coaches will observe him, and if he performs well, he will be included in Pakistan’s international side.
Before this league, the emerging players were selected by a franchise on their previous stats, and they didn’t know that player personally and that emerging player was not an important part of the team. Lahore Qalandars is the only team who did the player hunt. The player they selected in the emerging category was the player who they knew personally, and that player was a permanent and important part of the team. That’s why they are able to provide Pakistan with several stars, including Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf.
Overview:
Overall this league is a really good Initiative to improve Pakistan cricket. Youngsters will now have a full chance to showcase their talent and become future stars. From this league, Pakistan can find a lot of new players who can represent Pakistan at the international level.
