Losing against Australia has made Ex-Cricketers Angry?
After a shocking series against the arch-rivals, England’s ex-cricketer David Gower is on fire after a few statements which he made from the Hobart Test, he said – “Joe Root finds himself with people unavailable, because where are they? The IPL. What good is that for English Test cricket?!
This is the oldest, more important form of the game, we need to defend it.”
While Sir Alastair Cook who has been one of the most brilliant and successful openers of all time is also not happy from England’s recent performance, Cook says – “That has to be our rock bottom. Until people grab this team by the scruff of the neck I can’t see them changing.”
Will Root Still Continue?
As the series has come to an end, Root has just said that he will lead the team into a new era despite Ashes’ humiliation. Under his captaincy of the last 4 years, England have managed to win 27 test matches out of 61. As compared to Sir Alastair Cook’s record, he managed to win 24 test matches out of 59.
On the other hand, English fans on Social Media are also supporting Root and his men and stating that one series cannot decide anything for the captain or for the team. Yet the management will be taking every loose point and mistake into consideration and will be making some shuffling in the team before they tour the West Indies and start their tour of the Caribbean with a fresh mind.
Can Tour Of West Indies Decide The Future Of Joe Root?
Joe can see a sword hanging over his head after the Ashes 2021, the captain might have a chance to save his seat and win against West Indies in the Caribbean where they will be starting their tour from 23rd January.

Downfall Of Fab 4?
After Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy of team India, the cricketing world will also witness Root also stepping down from his captaincy after a disappointing series against Australia.
The questions are rising up for the England Captain as they will also tour West Indies later this month and will he be eying to follow the light of Kohli and step down from the captaincy and just play as a normal player and just focus on his skills and cricketing career or will he face the challenge and will respond back to the critics with winning series for the country and take on the lead in the stats of England Captains and create a history in winning most test matches?
