The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially unveiled the schedule for the landmark 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL X). The tournament is set to commence on April 11, 2025, featuring a thrilling opening match between defending champions Islamabad United and two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Spanning from April 11 to May 18, 2025, PSL X schedule will encompass a total of 34 matches across four major cities: Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Multan. Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium is slated to host 13 matches, including two Eliminators and the grand final on May 18. It is the first time that PSL has had a schedule clash with the Indian Premier League. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will see 11 matches, featuring the opening game and the first Qualifier on May 13. Both Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium are scheduled to host five matches each.
Exhibition Match in Peshawar
In a significant move to expand the league’s footprint, an exhibition match is planned for April 8 in Peshawar, with participating teams to be announced in due course. This initiative underscores the PCB’s commitment to bringing top-tier cricket to regions with a fervent fan base.
The tournament structure includes three double-headers: two on Saturdays and one on the national holiday, Labour Day (May 1). This scheduling aims to maximize viewership and accommodate fans’ convenience.
Karachi Kings, the champions of PSL’s fifth edition, will commence their campaign on April 12 at their home ground, facing off against last season’s runners-up, Multan Sultans. Multan Sultans, who claimed the PSL title in the sixth edition, will lock horns with Lahore Qalandars on April 22, marking the tournament’s first game at Multan Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host its inaugural match of PSL X on April 24, with the home side Lahore Qalandars squaring off against Peshawar Zalmi. Peshawar Zalmi, the 2017 PSL champions, will play five matches at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, whereas Quetta Gladiators, the winners of the fourth edition, will have five fixtures scheduled at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Salman Naseer, the Chief Executive Officer of HBL PSL, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season:
“We are thrilled to officially announce the schedule for the historic 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League. Over the past decade, the HBL PSL has grown into a globally recognized tournament, showcasing the best of Pakistan’s cricketing talent.”
