The First season of the Pakistan Junior League (PJL) is set to begin on October 6 to October 21 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has slots registered for international players from all over the world in the newly-launched PSL-like t20 league for U19 cricketers.
How many players have registered?
More than 140 players from around the world have registered themselves in the first edition of PJL. These players belong to big test-playing nations as part of the ICC and from associate non-test-playing nations.
Test playing nations in this Pakistan Junior League
The board has received player registration from eight Test playing nations(ICC full member) which include
- Afghanistan
- Australia
- Bangladesh
- England
- Ireland
- Sri Lanka
- West Indies
- Zimbabwe
South Africa and New Zealand cricket boards, while offering their help for the Pakistan Junior League(PJL) were not in that frame of mind to nominate players for the inaugural season. It is because the tournament dates clash with the academic examinations of their eligible players.

Associate nations in Pakistan Junior League
Where test-playing nations players registered themselves in this Junior League while the PCB has additionally gotten player nominations from Associate nations(Non-Test playing countries) which include
- Austria
- Belgium
- Canada
- Denmark
- Nepal
- Netherlands
- Saudi Arabia
- Singapore
- Scotland
- UAE
The final list of players eligible for the draft including foreign nominations will be finalized before the draft as the media team assesses the videos. It must be noted that to register for PJL, a candidate was supposed to upload his skill (batting or bowling) video using the official hashtags.
Pakistan Junior League Social Media campaign
According to PCB Media, more than 2500 videos were submitted by aspiring cricketers from all over Pakistan through the PJL social media campaign.
Who can be eligible for the PJL 2022?
PJL is a league for youngsters, youth, and boys who are maximum age of 19 can participate in this competition. Players born on or after 1 September 2003 are eligible for the PJL 2022 edition. Foreign players, domestic players and local talent, will be identified through the Social Media campaign and will play in this opening season of 2022.
