The defending champions of PSL season 6, Multan Sultans are one of the favorites to win PSL season 7. The team was launched in the third season of PSL, since then the team has surprised everyone and become the winner of season 6. Muhammad Rizwan who will once again lead the team who is in the form of his life, the fans are expecting a lot and is also expecting Multan Sultans to win the current season and defend their title.

After the tremendous season of PSL 6 and winning the title in the all-important final against Peshawar Zalmi, they set a target of 207 Runs and won that comfortably by 47 runs and lifted the trophy for the very first time.

Top Batters
Mohammad Rizwan
The captain of the side, Mohammad Rizwan was excellent both as a batter and as a keeper. He was one of the two batters to score over 500 runs in the last edition and had 18 dismissals behind the stumps.
Sohaib Maqsood
The player of the tournament in PSL 2021, Sohaib Maqsood had a fairytale journey given how he had his first five PSL editions. The top-order batter was in brilliant touch, single-handedly taking the game from the oppositions.
Rilee Rossouw
Rilee Rossouw played his part as a middle-order batter by finishing the matches strongly for the Sultans at the strike rate of almost 160!
Top Bowlers
Shahnawaz Dahani
The highest wicket-taker of the 2021 season, Shahnawaz Dahani was one of the key members of the Sultans side. Dahani was brilliant at breaking partnerships.
Imran Tahir
The second-highest wicket-taker for the Sultans, Imran Tahir was once again up with his wizardry, drying up runs and taking wickets for fun. He was the most economical bowler for his team.
Blessing Muzarabani
The tall fast bowler for Zimbabwe played only five games for Multan, but he made sure he left some impact on the side. He took 10 wickets at an economy of seven and a half and was found difficult to be played against.
Top All Rounders
Anwer Ali
Known for his hard-hitting at the end and some crucial bowling in between overs, Anwer had represented Quetta Gladiators in all of the first six seasons. Now he joins the MS team and will be looking to play his part as he has been doing over the years.
Asif Afridi
Left-arm spinner and a handy batter, Asif represented Rawalakot Hawks in the inaugural KPL 2021 and was the player of the final. Asif brings promise with his all-round skills.
David Willey
The English left-arm seamer is well known for his excellent swing bowling and hitting. Willey can play a big role in opening the bowling and adding vital runs in the death overs.
Sultans are a complete package having mixtures of top-order batsmen in face of Muhammad Rizwan, Rilee Rossouw and Shan Masood. Moving towards middle order or finisher, they have Rovman Powell, Khushdil Shah and big hitter Sohaib Maqsood. Picking up early wickets they have one of the best and currently called “Foreign Minister” Shahnawaz Dahani, Rumman Raees, Anwar Ali, and currently in form part-time batsmen Imran Tahir who can bat in difficult situations and can pick up wickets in the powerplay as well.

They have one of the best and most successful opener Muhammad Rizwan in the bag who will be once again leading Sultans in the PSL Season 7, talk about a great start, a partner who can quickly rotate strike and can score quick 40s and 50s in the first six overs of the powerplay.
Muhammad Rizwan who is currently averaging over 50, with a strike rate of almost 130 with highest score of 104* with 13 fifties and a hundred. Rizwan who is known for his great start and power hitting sixes can be lethal against any bowling lineup in the Pakistan Super League.
Multan Sultans journey in the PSL
Over the years in total Sultans have played around 44 matches and are successful in winning 20 matches, with a PSL season 6 trophy in the cabinet. Sultans in terms of batting has crossed 180 runs more than ten times with highest team total of 206 runs with the loss of 4 wickets against the mighty Peshawar Zalmi in final of season 6 which Sultans won easily.
In terms of batting Multan Sultans batters in face of Sohaib Maqsood, Shan Masood, James Vince and Muhammad Rizwan have made more than 500 runs in the entire PSL career. This makes Multan a tough team in terms of batting and can set and chase totals easily with the heavy guns.
Moving towards bowling, Multan Sultans have a combination of fast bowlers and spinners in light of Imran Tahir, Sohail Tanvir and Shahnawaz Dahani who have more than 20 wickets in their bag. Dahani with 4’vers two times makes him a lethal opening bowler in front of all the teams who can pick quick wickets and can finish off the innings with his dangerous yorkers.
