Mohammad Rizwan – From a Street Boy to a Stalwart

“From a Street boy to a Stalwart” is what Mohammad Rizwan is all about. A young lad hailing from heritage bearing city of Peshawar has arrived to shine over the horizon of cricket.

Mohammad Rizwan’s Journey – From where it all started?

Bursting onto the scene for the first time, the 29-year old couldn’t get into the proper limelight even after scoring 67 off 58 balls against Bangladesh in his first match in the 2015 series. The series which actually went as a nightmare for a newly reformed Pakistani team.

He made his T20 debut in the same tour but wasn’t successful at all. Later, a failure awaited in his debut test series having got out on a duck in his first test against New Zealand in 2016.

After being away for almost a period of 10-12 months, Rizwan led Pakistan U-23 and had quite a successful Emerging Asia cup as the team went into the semi-finals. Later in March 2019, the wicket-keeping batter scored his first century against Australia where he scored a nicely paced 115, that was a small breakthrough for what was to come.

Selected for National Team

In 2020, Rizwan became the first choice wicketkeeper-batsman for Pakistan after replacing former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmad in the team.

Mohammad Rizwan the besta

Being an unknown name to the world of cricket for a long long period of time despite playing for the national team, now known among the best t20 cricketers never gave up on his hard work. He had been a rocket arm fielder and a very intelligent wicket-keeper but the world was unknown to the batting masterclass that was hidden in him.

The man with great humbleness always replied to his critics in a very polite manner and let his bat do the work.

What makes Mohammad Rizwan a Star-Studded Player?

February 2021 came in as a fortune changer for Mohammad Rizwan, the one who staunchly says “Only Allah can do, others can’t”. The star was budding and it was ready to get the boom of light from the New Zealand series.

Striking his career-best score of 89 vs a classic NZ attack, many were still saying it was a fluke and a once in a blue moon kind of performance but after that single knock, the man has just been writing the history of his own.

From Helping Multan Sultans win the PSL season 6 to becoming the first-ever player to score 2000+ runs in T20s in a single calendar year, all have been a dream performance for the batter.

From being written off from the T20 format to becoming the most successful T20 batter in the whole world is nothing short of an amazing achievement.

Rizwan currently has the 2nd best T20 average as a batsman. His skills are making him a hot property to grab in the leagues around the world as he has already been approached by Vitality blast and Big bash teams.

Player with No Haters

With a superstar like Babar around, it was never predicted by Cricket gurus that Mohammad Rizwan can ever make a fan base in Pakistan or around the world but Boy O Boy, this lad had other plans. Today the most successful opening pair and the most consistent one is that of Babar and Rizwan.

The right-handed batsman as a human is an inspiration to rise from the ash to conquer the world. As a cricketer, he is an example for those who seek to learn and achieve their dreams through determination and not by being a gifted skill.

Hence it’s evident to say

“Rizwan was a Street boy turned into a stalwart on the basis of his hard work.”
