KPL 2021: Smooth-running journey of Muzaffarabad Tigers

The inaugural release of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL 2021) is underway in full-fledged despite the cross-border arch-rivals threats. 

Featuring six teams in the prime version, the KPL 2021 already seems well-polished contest as far as quality and coverage are considered. Also, the viewership looks pretty handsome.

Muzaffarabad Tigers, indicating the home ground via their name, is one of the crucial teams of the tournament.

Standing versus the Kotli Lions today, the Tigers growl in front of Lions roar, accomplishing the second game to invade the second spot on the KPL 2021 points table.

So far, the Hafeez-led men have featured in three games, winning two and losing one. Although they lost their second rivalry versus the Rawalakot Hawks, they won the hearts and battled until the end.

Muzaffarabad Tigers in their first game:

Battling the first encounter versus the Overseas Warriors, Tigers stepped in the ground with enlightened confidence. 

After being subjugated to the ball first, they conceded 154 runs, and it already looked like an easy chase. With the assistance of Sohaib Maqsood and Sohail Akhtar, alongside mini contributions of other batters, Tigers triumphed the target in 17.2 overs, sparing seven wickets.

From their end, Usama Mir remained the successful bowler picking up three wickets and conceding 18 runs in 4 spells. Arshad Iqbal picked two whereas, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Wasim, and Anwar Ali contributed with one each.

Muzaffarabad Tigers in their second game:

In the second encounter, the Tigers were really close to the victory but could not accomplish it and failed by only a run.

While needing to chase 176 runs, they faced a full stop on 174 as the opponent bowlers did not let them thrive through a super over.

The skipper remained the top-scorer with 44 runs while Zeeshan Ashraf, Sohaib Maqsood, Sohail Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir together added the rest of the numbers. 

In the bowling depart, Wasim Jnr inspired the watchers to pick up the first hat-trick of the contest – that too in his first over. Arshad Iqbal did a decent spell, too, and together, they gathered seven wickets of the Hawks. 

Notably, Rawalakot Hawks vs. Muzaffarabad Tigers remain the most enchanting encounter of the KPL 2021 yet as it on-screened last over thrills. 

Tigers in their third game:

In the third game, the Tigers decided to step back in the game and did so as they overpowered Lions.

Conceding 195 runs in the first inning, they did not lose hope and successfully reached the milestone in the 19th over.

The summary of the third match probably can be Zeeshan Ashraf, who slammed a magnificent century and ended up with 107 runs on 62 balls. 

The remaining schedule for Muzaffarabad Tigers:

Now, the Tigers are left with two RobinHood stage games and have given the fans certain hopes for being in the playoffs. Hafeez and men will face Bagh Stallions on 12th August and Mirpur Royals on 13th August.

It is pertinent to mention that the playoff round of the league begins on 14th August. As per the schedule, the Qualifier, Eliminator 1, and Eliminator 2 will be played on 14, 15, and 16 August, respectively whereas, the final will be rivaled on 17th August.
