In a recent Instagram post, Azam Siddique targeted Kamran Akmal, sharing a childhood picture of Kamran and Babar with a caption highlighting Babar’s achievements. He said,
“Even as a kid, he (Babar) never played under your (Kamran Akmal’s) captaincy, but you did and got out on 0. Yet, he scored a century.”
Azam Siddique further referenced a Turkish saying,
“If someone claims to be your brother, he must make it clear either he’s Habil or Qabil.”
This Azam Siddique’s dig has ignited a heated debate.
Kamran Akmal’s remarks about Babar:
Even after being cousins, good relations have never been seen between Babar and Akmal brothers. Adnan, Kamran, and Umar Akmal all three have dominated Pakistan Cricket in their prime, and as a former cricketer and Babar’s senior, they can surely criticize Babcar on his performance and lack of skills. So, they often do.
In a recent podcast, where he was asked about Babar and Rizwan’s exclusion from the T20 squad. Kamran said,
“In my opinion, they should now be kept for test matches. Maybe after 6 months, they should be considered for tests only.”
The statement seems quite professional, given that both Babar and Rizwan aren’t doing well these days in limited formats. However, this statement triggered Babar’s father. Azam Siddique’s dig at Kamran Akmal sparked controversy, with Azam accusing Kamran of envying Babar after the recent statement of Kamran.

Kamran Akmal addressed Azam Siddique’s comments, saying,
“I proudly represented my country and never sought to be envied by anyone.”
He urged Azam Siddique to respect the boundaries between them and wished Babar Azam continued success. Kamran emphasized,
“Cricket is about professionalism, not personal agendas,”
maintaining a professional tone in the exchange, effectively diffusing the tension sparked by Azam Siddique’s dig.
