The Chairman of PCB’s position is important in the state of running the country’s cricket. This position was left vacant after ex-PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf resigned from his post after having a very dismal team performance under his leadership as a head of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
New Chairman of PCB:
Shah Khawar the election commission, recently inducted representative in the Pakistan Cricket Board, has now announced the new interim Chairman of PCB with the motive that free fair elections would be held and a new chairman would be elected through the voting process.
While talking about his appointment Shah Khawar stated that his primary responsibility will be to conduct the election of the chairman of PCB transparently. There shall be an easy shift of powers towards the new chairman with no prosperity towards any candidate.
Who can be the next Chairman?:
So now who can be the next Chairman of PCB? Now according to some rumors, the interim caretaker CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi is leading the race to become the next PCB chairman and is leading the race to become the chairman of PCB.
Anwar Ul Haq Kakar the interim caretaker Prime minister of Pakistan holds interim CM Punjab very high in regard and is very impressed with the way he has been doing his work as the interim CM Punjab and as Pakistan Cricket Board’s Patron chief he can certainly be nominating him for the position.

Highs and lows under Zaka Ashraf:
When Zaka Ashraf was the Chairman of PCB Pakistan cricket saw many lows that were not seen ever before be it in the performance of the team be it scandals related to the voice call leak or the leaked messages of the captain at the time Babar Azam.
Zaka Ashraf was appointed as the chairman after Najam Sethi who was from a ruling party of 13 parties. Zaka Ashraf represented the second-biggest ruling party hence this was more of a political move.
Pakistan Cricket Team went on to play in the World Cup that was being held in India and things started to take an ugly turn when rumors were circulating that there was a rift between senior players and the PCB itself on the issue of central contracts and the players were not paid their dues from 2-3 months.
Things got out of hand when the chairman of PCB gave an interview to a sports journalist and criticized the captain of the team now keeping this in mind team was taking part in the World Cup and the biggest blunder was he gave a screenshot of a conversation with captain Babar Azam and that journalist aired that in a public show after that there was a call leak of him being talking with other ladies and conspiring against the captain Babar Azam.
Things took hold when Pakistan suffered a defeat against Australia in tests 3-0 and after that lost the series to New Zealand 4-1 (T20) series. This was enough for Chairman Pcb to resign.

After the selection of the Chairman of PCB, the focus must be on the positive uprising of cricket and there shall be no political rifts. The work should be done for the betterment of Cricket in Pakistan.
