PSL 8: Match Officials, Commentary Panel and Broadcast Territories announced

The Pakistan Super League 2023 is just under one week away. The eighth edition of Pakistan’s premier T20 competition promises to be exciting, thrilling and filled with lots of emotions. Earlier today, the PCB announced all the Match Officials, Commentary Panel and Broadcast Territories for the PSL 8.

The league will begin from 13 February to 19 March 2022. The opening game will be a repeat of the 2022 final as defending champions Lahore Qalandars takes on Multan Sultans.

Match Officials and Commentators for PSL 8

Match Officials

The PCB named 19 match officials who will conduct each and every game of the PSL of which 14 are umpires and five are referees. 

The experienced duo of Aleem Dar and Ahsan Raza will once again join the party along with their six local colleagues. Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf also return to the country while Martin Saggers, Michael Gough, Nasir Hussain, and Ruchira Palliyaguruge are part of the on-field umpires.

In the Match Referee list, along with the four locals is Sri Lanka’s 1996 World Cup winner Roshan Mohamana who will join the PSL Match Referee panel.

Commentators

15 Commentators (plus 2 Presenters) were announced for the on-air voice show. Eight overseas commentators were also included. Simon Doull, Alan Wilkins and Danny Morrison will make yet another PSL appearance. They will be joined by Nick Knight, Daren Ganga, Mark Boutcher, Dominic Cork and Vernon Philander.

Former Pakistan captains Waqar Younis, Urooj Mumtaz and Sana Mir are included in the list of locals alongside Bazid Khan, Sikandar Bakht, Marina Iqbal and Tariq Saeed. Iqbal and Saeed will serve as Urdu Commentators. 

Zainab Abbas and Erin Holland reprised their roles as TV Presenters.
