Preview: Why Karachi Kings might surprise everyone in PSL 7?

Exciting times for cricket fans converging thick and fast, as the 7th season of Pakistan Super League is just around the edge. Starting from 27th January, with the much-anticipated encounter of Karachi Kings and the defending champions Multan Sultans in National Stadium Karachi.

A look back at their journey within the marquee event emphasizes a decently performing side with rather unforeseen performances in the bigger contests. The franchise has never been short of adequate resources but it’s the execution that has held them back at times.

As mentioned prior, Karachi will be on show in the opening game where they will be fighting it out against Multan Sultans. The last time these two sides met, kings remained short at the final hurdle despite a fabulous 85 from Babar Azam. Meanwhile, in the head-to-head comparison, Karachi kings have dominated the Sultans winning 5 out of 7 face-offs.

Besides that, a name like Peter Moores who has been a respectful name in coaching worldwide, will be another positive aspect. Babar Azam will be taking the charge as captain of the side for the first time. Over the years, bowling hasn’t been the strongest pursuit of the Kings as they experienced continuous ups and downs. Muhammad Ilyas

An emerging prospect and a quality pacer having proper control over his bowling. He holds a unique importance in the Kings franchise, as they seem to have huge hopes pinned to a young rookie to stand tall and be the necessary flavor they are looking to add in there.

Muhammad Amir

Always have been in the discussions, especially of late with that depleting pace & retirement from International cricket. But the franchise has kept the belief in him as the go-to pacer in the side. Muhammad Amir will be looking forward to silencing his critics through relentless performance which seems an inherent characteristic to him.

Sharjeel Khan

Muhammad Nabi
