The second most populous nation in the region of South Asia, known as a cricket-centric country, is actually witnessing a new revolution. It is the Pakistan Volleyball team which is marking its place with continuous improvement in its game style and rankings. Fighting hard against the Top four Asian sides and dominating teams like India, the Korean Republic and Chinese Taipei. There is no doubt that Aimal Khan’s men are en route to achieving greatness in the sport.
Development in Recent Years
Pakistan Volleyball Federation has recently launched a “2028 Los Angeles Vision” aiming for the team to qualify for the Olympics 2028 event. Having impressed in the Asian Games 2018, where they defeated teams like China and India, Pakistan had been in 7th position continuously in major events until the Asian Games 2023. In the form of stars like Aimal Khan, Murad Jehan, and Mubashir Raza, the national volleyball team has individuals with global experience who can lead the side to finish better in upcoming major tournaments.
Moreover, Shaheens also clinched their first-ever CAVA title after defeating Asian Number One in the final of the tournament in 2022. Despite not having first-choice players in the Iranian squad, defeating them in a huge home crowd was enough to boost players’ morale.

The Green Ballers were able to enter the Asian Top 5 for the first time in 33 years. They defeated Mongolia, Chinese Taipei and Korean Republic on their way to the quarter-final, where they were defeated by Qatar. In the classification match for 5th position, they thrashed their arch-rivals in a one-sided match, to make a statement of their progress in recent years.

Especially when a franchise-based league is on its way to light up the stage and revolutionize the Pakistan Volleyball Team’s image in the international arena.
These actions can make us see Murad Jehan potentially emerging as the force disrupting the Brazilian and Polish defences. All while sponsors clamour to associate themselves with the superstar in the upcoming 5 years. With such a hypothetical scenario, he might even surpass Babar Azam to become the most sought-after sports asset in the nation.
