The New Zealand Cricket Team’s tour to Pakistan for a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series has been officially confirmed. The Kiwis would be setting foot in Pakistan after a total of 17 years. Pindi cricket stadium will host the ODI series while the responsibility of hosting a T20i series will fall on Gaddafi stadium.
25% Crowd Allowed by NCOC
Another recent development has been the fact that NCOC has allowed a certain percentage of the crowd to come and watch the games live in the stadiums but only if they meet the condition of being “fully vaccinated”
25% is the number which means Pindi stadium can entertain 4500 spectators while Gadaffi can entertain 5500.
The CEO of PCB seems delighted by this decision and urges the unvaccinated people to also get vaccinated if they want to watch Pakistan vs New Zealand.
“Spectators are the essence of any sport event as they create an ambiance and atmosphere for the players to excel, perform and enjoy. In this background, we are grateful to the NCOC for allowing the PCB to invite 25 percent crowds for the eight matches.
I am sure following the NCOC decision, the unvaccinated cricket followers will expedite their vaccination process so that they can witness the first series on home soil between the two sides since 2003.”
Last series between the two teams on home soil
The last time the New Zealand cricket team toured Pakistan was in 2003. The green boys were led by Inzamam ul Haq while the kiwis were led by Chris Cairns. A 5 match ODI series was played between the teams and it was won by the hosts 5-0.
Head to head record:
The total ODI matches played between Pakistan & New Zealand is 107 in which Pakistan has won 55 games, New Zealand has won 48 games, 1 game tied while 3 games ended with no result.
The total T20i matches played between Pakistan & New Zealand is 24 in which Pakistan has won 14 games, New Zealand has won 10 games.
