Tensions between Pakistan and India

Pakistan and India have a historical sporting history full of drama, competition, and action. Unfortunately, the political tensions between the two neighbors have restricted the sports fan from witnessing one of the best rivalries of cricket. Pakistan last toured India in 2012-13, where Pakistan won the ODI Series 2-1 while the T20I Series was squared 1-1.

Importance of Kashmir Premier League

The Kashmir Premier League holds great importance as it is the very first event in the history of Azad Kashmir that will be covered not just nationally but internationally. The passion for cricket in the entire Jammu and Kashmir Regions administered by Pakistan and India is immense; hence, this event will highlight the young talent of Kashmir and highlight the soft image of Kashmir globally.

Promotion of Kashmiri Talent

KPL is a big platform for the Kashmiri youth to get recognition worldwide. Each squad needed to select five local Kashmiri origin players, while the draft’s emerging category also included players from the rest of Pakistan and overseas Kashmiri players. Unlike Pakistan Super League, KPL teams will have to pick at least three emerging players in the playing XI to give them exposure and a chance to prove themselves.
