Hosting a sports tournament is nothing short of an honor for the country doing it. It brings the host country a lot of recognition and a plethora of opportunities. ICC has just announced a list of men’s tournaments along with hosting countries. The list includes 8 tournaments and 14 hosting countries. Pakistan has bagged the Champion Trophy CT 2025 rights. CT 2025 will be happening after a gap of eight years. And this makes the CT 2025 edition all the more exciting.

A Preview of the Announced Host Nations
The men’s cricket tournaments from 2024-2031 will be held in different countries. While certain countries like India and England have previously held events, some new names have also been added.
T20I World Cup Hosting
A surprising new venue has been allotted for the world cup 2024. USA along with West Indies will do the hosting for the mega event.
In the year 2026, India will share hosting rights with Sri Lanka to hold T20I World Cup.
The next edition of the T20I World Cup will then be held in 2028. Australia and New Zealand will co-host this edition.
England, Ireland, and Scotland will be staging together the T20I World Cup of 2030. The last time Ireland and Scotland hosted a cricket event was in 1999.
Cricket World Cup Hosting
The ICC list of men’s tournaments includes two Cricket World Cups. The first World Cup will be played in the year 2027. The hosting rights will be shared among South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. This will be Namibia’s very first time hosting the mega event. The other two countries have already hosted in 2003
The Cricket World Cup of 2031 will be staged by India and Bangladesh. The Cricket World Cup held in 2011 was also hosted by the two neighbors along with Sri Lanka.
CT 2025 Hosting
The CT 2025 hosting rights have been granted exclusively to Pakistan. The land of the pure last hosted the Cricket World Cup in 1996.

The second and the last CT of the schedule will be played in 2029. India will stage the mega event.

What it Means for Pakistan to Host CT 2025
Pakistan was in search of hosting a big ICC event since teams like South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh toured Pakistan. The dream began when the entire PSL was played in Pakistan in 2020.
Finally, the dream has come true as ICC has given the hosting of ICC men’s Champion Trophy to Pakistan. Pakistan is also the defending champion of this trophy. CT was last played in 2017 in England.
The CT 2025 will be key for Pakistan to become a strong candidate for the hosting of upcoming ICC events in the future. It will also play an important role for the players who don’t tour Pakistan due to security reasons. CT 2025 will directly increase the value of PSL as big players will definitely visit Pakistan.
The most important thing is CT 2025 will completely restore international cricket in Pakistan. PCB, which is completely dependent upon the national treasury, will get a huge economic advantage. When PCB will be useful for the government it will be autonomous in their decisions that have different impacts on cricket. The level of cricket will improve when the new pitches of the international level will be made in Pakistan.
CT 2025 will give a huge boost to business in Pakistan. The new business would mean more infrastructure and hence more job opportunities for the people. Many people who have been involved in cricket have already suffered due to lack of international cricket. The ICC will give a budget to PCB to improve all these things like the stadiums and pitches.
As CT 2025 is a big ICC event, when it will take place in Pakistan safely it will give a positive message to the world about the safety of Pakistan. People from all over the world will visit Pakistan to see the matches that will help in the recognition of Pakistani culture. This will also promote tourism in the country.
Because of CT 2025, there are a lot of chances that ICC will give hosting rights of any Women’s or under 19 ICC events to Pakistan in the future.
