The Asia Cup 2025 Schedule was recently unveiled. The tournament will run from September 9 to 28. This tournament will be played in T20I and for the first time ever, the tournament will feature eight teams.
19 matches will be played in the United Arab Emirates, with the venues yet to be announced. Though Dubai and Abu Dhabi are expected to host the matches, with Dubai hosting the Final.
The 17th edition of the Asian Championship was supposed to be played in India. Given the geopolitical and diplomatic tensions between India’s two neighbours, Bangladesh and Pakistan, the Asia Cup announcement was expected after the recent Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka, which was initially surrounded by controversy.
But because the original host, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), needed to work out certain business issues with its partners, the announcement was postponed. It was then later announced by the ACC president and current Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi, confirming the event to take place in the UAE.

Asia Cup 2025 Schedule and Groupings
Eight teams will play in the Asian championship. The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, automatically qualified for the tournament. They are joined by the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Hong Kong, the teams which finished in the top three in the 2024 ACC Men’s Premier Cup.

The top two teams from each group will then progress to “Super 4s,” where the top two teams will play the final.
Timings and Venues were announced on August 3. The matches will begin at 7 pm Pakistan time. As for the days which have double headers, the first match will start at 5 pm Pakistan time at a different venue. Dubai and Abu Dhabi were confirmed to host the matches of the 2025 Asia Cup.
