The Asia Cup 2023 Schedule has finally been announced today. The Asian championship event will run from August 30 till September 17 with the opener seeing hosts Pakistan play Nepal in game one in Multan.
The announcement of the event schedule was revealed by the new PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf, who unveiled both the plan and the trophy in Lahore.
13 matches will be played across both Pakistan and Sri Lanka with the former hosting five matches in Lahore and Multan. Colombo and Kandy will host the rest of the matches.
The 16th edition of the Asia Cup will be played in the One Day International format. This will act as a preparation for the upcoming 2023 Cricket World Cup, which will begin on October 5.

Asia Cup 2023 Schedule and Groupings
Six teams will play in the Asian championship. The five teams have already qualified for the main round while the six-team Nepal qualified through the ACC Men’s Premier Cup earlier this year.

The top two teams from each group will then progress to “Super 4s,” where the top two teams will play the final.

A few points to be noted here as the PCB announced the tournament details;
Irrespective of the positions in the group stage, Pakistan will be seeded A1 while India will be seeded A2. Similarly, Sri Lanka will be seeded B1 while Bangladesh will be seeded B2.
If any one of the seeded teams does not qualify for the Super 4s, the team who qualifies instead will take that seed.
For example; if Bangladesh (B2) fails and Afghanistan qualifies, Afghanistan will be seeded B2 instead.
