Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has decided to hang up his boots from international cricket. Nicknamed the “Professor,” he served Pakistan in 392 matches, scoring 12,780 international runs and taking 253 international wickets. In T20Is, he is Pakistan’s second-highest run-scorer.
Hafeez is also part of Pakistan’s winning campaigns – the 2017 Champions Trophy & 2012 Asia Cup – as well as runner-ups in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2014 Asia Cup.
Twitter exploded today with the announcement of veterans’ retirement. Many gave him a warm send-off, including some of the big names in international cricket. Others were pleased to see Hafeez leaving the cricket planet and demanded his fellow cricketer Shoaib Malik to do the same.
