Unfortunately, a heartbreaking news came out today for all Pakistan cricket fans. Shaheen Shah Afridi’s replacement will now be announced in a short course for Asia Cup as he has been ruled out of the tournament. This is a huge blow to Pakistan. He has proved himself as the most dangerous bowler of the line-up on multiple occasions. The board will now have to find a good replacement to fill the hole left by the left armed bowler.
What Happened To The Bowler?
Fans are also arguing a case for up and coming bowler Mir Hamza. He’s starting to prove himself with performances in PSL and also the ongoing Kashmir Premier League. Many believe that it is finally time to give him his chance. One factor against him is to put so much pressure on him and suddenly make him play in the Asia Cup also against India. He has been all over Twitter with many asking for him to be the replacement.
Afridi suffered the injury when he dived for a ball hit by Dinesh Chandimal out on the boundary. He was visibly hurt and was seen limping across the field. Tests were run but although there was no fracture he was ruled out of the second test due to swelling. Since then the left arm pacer was unable to recover and is going to miss the tournament.

Possible Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Replacements
Since this unfortunate event. The men in green will have to find a replacement for their star bowler. The most possible outcome is that Naseem Shah will replace the Seamer. He is proving his case in this series that’s happening in the Netherlands.
Muhammad Wasim Jr seems destined to already play for the Shaheens. Shahanawaz Dahani can be a wild card as he is a bowler that is very unique although he hasn’t played as much cricket as the former two.
Hasan Ali can be brought to replace him. Although his performances in white ball cricket don’t see him returning. Experience could maybe favour his chances of coming back. His confidence is certainly low and that might damage the team’s spirit. He could be an asset as he can also be handy with the bat. There could be a possibility that he might join the squad.
Muhammad Amir’s name has been brought up and he also started to trend on twitter. The fast bowler quickly tweeted as a reply. Fans are desperate to bring him back to International cricket. Although this outcome is highly unlikely.

Mir Hamza will be the perfect replacement of Shaheen as he is the best in the country with new ball. But he isn't in good list of CS. pic.twitter.com/S7Fwvfuy10

Time to consider this extremely talented youngster and in-form left-arm pacer @mirhamza_k to replace @iShaheenAfridi

Faheem Ashraf, Wahab Riaz could also be brought in but that has a very low chance. This is due to their performances not being up to par. Some people could even say Zaman Khan but that again is too early for the rising star. There are so many options for Pakistan but it’s important that Muhammad Wasim gets the right selection for the team.
