Pakistan Kits in T20 World Cup Over the Years

Whenever there is a new tournament, Pakistan always prepares for a new kit. In rare times, they continue with the same kit for the next edition but that was last seen in the 2009 Champions Trophy. With the 2021 T20 World Cup kit unveiled, here are Pakistan kits in T20 World Cup over the years.

In the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan wore more of a Volt/ Apple Green color supported by dark green. The dark green was colored at the bottom and fades to a lighter tone. There was a big crescent across the kit and a star on the sleeves (Depending on the hand type of the batsman). The kit was very unique and it was worn for about two years.

Pakistan had a different kit in the 2009 edition. The jersey had a yellow single stripe on the sides while the color went dark green. This kit was first seen in 2009 when Australia traveled to UAE for a white-ball series against Pakistan. It was the first time that a kit was worn before the tournament and also continued until the 2009 Champions Trophy. Probably because Pakistan won the tournament to keep the luck going.

2010 is one of the three kits of Pakistan in the T20 World Cups that appeared only in the tournament. The color was slightly textured while the yellow stripes were still on the sides with an addition of white outliners. Even the color was slightly darker than the previous one, opting for likely Charleston green.

2012 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Perhaps the most famous kit Pakistan has ever worn in the tournament. The dark green color has multiple black stars diagonally spread over the shirt while the trousers were plain. There was even the Pakistan flag on the top of the left shoulder.

After the tournament, the kit was discontinued. Some fans were displeased, others believed that it was the right decision as the flag of Pakistan on the left shoulder gets grounded when a player fields.

2014 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

The 2014 Pakistan kit is the only one that was more dominated in black. There was a ting of green represented in the kit, such as the crescent and the star. There is a lighter green on the shoulders with yellow highlighters. It was a very good-looking kit. It is such a shame we did not see it again.

2016 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Perhaps the simplest kit Pakistan has ever worn in an ICC tournament. This kit was more of a jungle green in color with a 3D star printed on the front, which was slightly darker to make it visible. This kit also had a zipper, which no other kits had before.

Following the tournament, Pakistan continued with the kit in the international series for 18 months before they changed it again.

2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Fans were eagerly waiting for the new kit of Pakistan. Before the kit was officially announced, there were rumors that one of the test kits was supposed to be Pakistan’s new kit. That kit made quite a headline with its hostname.

However, that kit was confirmed not to be official as on October 15, the PCB finally unveiled the official one. The design was met with a slightly similar soldiers uniform with fans labeling it “Army kit” for the tournament. Deep jungle green and amazon colors were filled in. Fans expect that they hope to rope another title with such a jersey on show.
