Mohammad Rizwan usually makes highlights for his brilliant cricket, but this time he has been the centre of attention due to his personal life. Recently, he was seen praying at the side of the street in the USA. A video of Mohammad Rizwan praying became viral and opened up discussions about his personal life. Everybody reacted differently to that video. The real question is was the criticism justified?
Has Mohammad Rizwan’s personal life been discussed in the past?
The wicket-keeper batsman of Pakistan Cricket team is unapologetic about his faith. Islam is a huge part of his life, and he does not hide it. He makes sure to include religion in his life, and there’s nothing wrong with it. However, he has been on numerous occasions under fire. First, there was an issue of not directly looking at Zainab Abbas, then not taking pictures with female fans, and now praying publicly.
None of these practices have harmed anybody in any way. However, Rizwan gets attacked for all of these again and again. Most of the criticism comes from across the border too.
Why was the wicket-keeper batsman in the news recently?
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam went to Harvard for a conference and on that tour, a video of Mohammad Rizwan praying in the street circled around the internet.
It instantly had mixed views. Some people did not seem to have a problem with it, while others had a very serious problem with it, and they thought he was doing it just for attention. Some also deemed it unnecessary. There were also comments about how there are so many mosques available in the city, and Rizwan did not need to pray outside.
Was the criticism justified?
The video caused uproar even though it was an unproblematic video. It would be better if the attention and long paragraphs are diverted to a better cause instead of discussing a player’s personal life that harms nobody. However, whether it was a manager who leaked the video or a fan, it should be considered that the video should not have been made public without the consent of the player.
In conclusion, the criticism about Mohammad Rizwan’s praying was not justified, and people need to be kinder and not comment on personal beliefs as long as they do not harm anybody.
